CC-TAG-BIOTIN® is a cGMP grade Biotin 3-sulfo N-Hydroxysuccinimide ester sodium salt. It enables simple and efficient labeling of any primary anime-containing molecules such as antibodies or proteins and is specially intended to preform in vivo studies and clinical trail because it presents the following benefits:

  • – A non-radioactive tracer easy to handle
  • – All synthesis steps of CC-TAG-BIOTIN® were performed according Q7 GMP Guidance for API following the Eudralex guidelines (cGMP) and confers GMP grade (chemical characteristics data sheet).
  • – CC-TAG-BIOTIN® is water soluble, enabling reactions to be performed in the absence of organic solvents such as DMSO or DMF. It reacts efficiently with primary amino groups (-NH2) in pH 7-9 buffers to form stable amide bonds. Because CC-TAG-BIOTIN® dissolves readily in polar solutions and is charged by the sodium sulfoxide group on the succinimidyl ring, it cannot permeate the cell membrane as long as the cell remains intact. Therefore it can be used as a safe cell surface tracer and is a good alternative to reference radioactive tracers.
  • – Its white crystallized structure confers to CC-TAG-BIOTIN® a high degree of purity (>95%) which is crucial for an in vivo application and for an increased storage stability.
  • – The No-Weigh Format is a single-use packaging format that eliminates difficulties associated with weighing small quantities of reagent.
  • – CC-TAG-BIOTIN® is derived from the naturally occurring D enantiomer biotin (Vitamin B7 or B8 or H according to nomenclatures). Because of its small size, CC-TAG-BIOTIN® can be conjugated to many proteins without altering their biological activities.
  • – The tracking of cells labelled with the CC-TAG-BIOTIN® can be performed easily by flow cytometry with fluorescent streptavidin because biotin binds with high affinity to avidin and streptavidin. Biotin bound to soluble proteins can be easily detected in ELISA, dot blot or Western blot applications using streptavidin or avidin-conjugated probes.
